High Holidays 2025

A Community Centre Lays In Rubble

Campaigns

On June 16, 2025, an Iranian missile struck the Bnei Brak Center for children with severe disabilities. In seconds, Israel’s most advanced rehabilitative facility - where over 650 children and families found safety, progress, and dignity - was destroyed. Decades of work, built up by the dedicated, caring staff, reduced to rubble.

"It was the only place where our daughter felt safe. I stand here now and everything is destroyed. Everyday without her therapy is a loss. Where do I take her now?" shared Shulamit, looking around at the devastated building.

This was more than a building. The Bnai Brak Special Needs Centre is part of Israel’s leading network for individuals with multiple severe disabilities. It was a model of inclusion, compassion, and community, and critically, a place where children with the most complex needs received specialized services and care they couldn’t get anywhere else. Families found reassurance and a sense of normalcy. No child was ever treated as "too different." The full complex featured therapy rooms, inclusive classrooms, adaptive equipment, and communal spaces designed for healing and growth. Now, they have nowhere else to turn.

Friends of JNF Canada has committed to rebuild this beacon of hope - restoring therapy rooms, replacing medical equipment, and giving back dignity and care to Israel’s most vulnerable children. This High Holiday season, you can turn devastation into renewal. Your gift will help rebuild lives - and prove that Israel’s spirit of resilience is stronger than any missile.

Our campaign will launch the week of September 8, 2025. Please return to this page then to send your donations, and thank you in advance for your generous support for this project!
